You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world’s largest computing infrastructure. Our scope includes systems, repair, issue handling, parts tracking, and Data Center maintenance. AWS Data Centers are large-scale, high-density facilities where you will help shape technology in the region.Key responsibilitiesWorking as part of the Operations team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.Install and remove server racks, repair various IT hardware and network components, and respond to emergent situations impacting operations.Meet customer service level agreements by resolving problems and serve as the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.Perform on-call duties and participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that involve monitoring the data center infrastructure.Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.Understand and apply department policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines.Contribute to documentation on technical issues via root cause analysis and participate in process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.More experienced engineers may assist in training less experienced team members.A day in the lifeSupport Data Center infrastructure equipment (e.g., racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables).Follow ticket-based instructions, work on systematic problem resolution, and perform routine operations on hardware or spare parts, including installing and removing server racks and fixing server hardware.Take on-call duties and participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring the data center infrastructure.Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude.Engage in site management and maintain tidiness in operation areas.Work in a rotating shift with a team of engineers. Standard shift hours are 8:00–18:00, 12:00–22:00, or 21:45–08:15, on a 4 days on / 3 days off pattern.About the teamAmazon values diverse experiences.
