If you’re passionate about pushing the limits of performance, efficiency, and scalability in the cloud, this is your opportunity to build the systems that define what’s next for AWS—and for the entire AI industry.Key Job ResponsibilitiesOwn and lead the design, development and root‑cause analysis of a new segment of accelerated servers.Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals, leveraging your experience with server design and the knowledge of various teams to architect scalable solutions.Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of component, firmware, test, qualification, and integration engineers; lead design and manufacturing partners to bring these servers to the data center.Oversee the fleet of servers post‑launch, monitoring quality and ensuring they meet customer requirements.Interface with internal and external customers to understand project requirements and facilitate system development on top of your server design.Learn operational challenges to the existing fleet with the goal of improving current customer experience and developing improved systems for future designs.Work directly with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams to develop and manufacture your product at scale.A Day in the LifeYour day‑to‑day responsibilities will include interfacing with our internal and external customers to understand project requirements and facilitate system development on top of your server design. You will work directly with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams to develop and manufacture your product at scale.About the TeamThe team is comprised of both Hardware Design Engineers, System Design Engineers, Software Development Engineers, and Technical Program Managers, all with the common goal of delivering the best specialized server fleet possible to our customers. The Hardware Engineering AI / ML development team is a group of engineers and technical program managers directly responsible for launching hardware in the fleet. Located out of Seattle, Cupertino and Austin we work on programs with global development teams (both internal and external to Amazon). Our servers are located in data centers globally.
