Hobson Prior are currently seeking for a Head of Process Development to join a brilliant biotech establishment on a permanent basis located in Rome. Our client is focused on supplying an economically secure and stable choice of associate with autonomy.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- For this role, you will handle and control the PD budget such as CapEx and OpEx.
- Suggest suitable annual budgets based on the projected actions/projects as well as approved internal development programs.
- Discuss aberrations to senior management.
- You will organise tech-transfer and overall communication between UK, as well as any other clients both internally and externally.
- Contribute to congresses and any other scientific events distributing scientific presentations, therefore increasing the visibility as a CDMO within the market.
- To assist in present project requirements and goals such as new projects, changed priorities, etc., you will consistently review and optimise the company both staff and workflows.
- Converse with business development assisting BD within technical conversations with possible clients.
- Any other assigned duties.

**Requirements**:

- Educated to an advanced degree level in a biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biology or similar discipline, with years of experience operating within a biopharmaceutical process development and/or manufacturing environment
- Acquaintance with guiding an upstream and downstream process development group or guiding the process development group as a whole.
- Familiarity with guiding and directing biopharmaceutical process development teams.
- Service focused outlook.
- Fluency in the Italian language with knowledge in English.
- Exhibited ability to manage upstream and downstream process development with recombinant proteins or antibodies derived from CHO cell culture systems.
- Former involvement in handling projects within a matrixed setting.
