**BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT**:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

WFP Food Quality and Safety (SCOQ) unit, located within the division of Supply Chain, is responsible of developping food and packaging specifications, to support food purchases for humaniatrian respones.

With the growing amount of foods, and various food standards from destination countries,

SCOQ is standardizing and transforming the specifications digitally, and also continously improve the specification development processes and tools.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and draft specifications according to WFP's template and applicable internal and external rules and regulations;
- Develop and implement a specification development process: consulting internally and externally with defined stakeholders, mediating discussions and preparing associated documentation;
- Act as the document manager: update FSQ website specification page and FSQ sharepoints folders of specifications, regulatory benchmarks, standards, and SOPs/memorandums etc;
- Maintain specifications updated in IT module and act as a focal point to identify and assist on specification-related IT system improvements;
- Provide on-job assistance to CO/RB specification writers;
- Act as the unit's focal point for specification-related inquiries and questions and queries;
- Other tasks as required

**DELIVERABLES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
Develop professional specifications with clear associated documentation, and keep different stakeholders, systems and archives updated.

Contribute to digitilization of workstream tools.

Propose ways of working to improve the workstream efficiency, benchmarking against private sector practices.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
**Education**:
University degree in Food technology, Food Engineering, Food Safety and Quality or other field relevant to the required tasks above enhanced by experience on the relevant topics

**Experience**:
1-3 years

**Knowledge and Skills**:
Demonstrated organizational capability and excellent communication skills

Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook)

IT Systems acquaintance preferred

**Languages**:
Fluency (level C) in English language.
