Accountant

**Key responsibilities**
- Verify and record all accounting documents, including purchase invoices, expense reports, and payroll journals.
- Calculate and book necessary provisions.
- Monitor and account for assets, including calculating depreciation allowances.
- Ensure compliance with the Italian General Chart of Accounts and applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain and prepare accounting documentation for audits conducted by tax authorities, statutory auditors, chartered accountants, and internal auditors.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, and other tax related matters.
- Enter banking transactions into the accounting system promptly.Prepare and review bank reconciliation statements to ensure accuracy.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in accounting, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics operation industry.
- Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Experience with freight forwarding and logistics management systems (e.g., CargoWise, Oracle Fusion, or similar platforms).
- Proficiency in accounting software (Preferably Oracle Fusion).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Collaborating with logistics, operations, and sales teams to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Building relationships with freight suppliers and customers for seamless financial communication.
- Addressing tax and compliance challenges related to cross-border activities.

Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Italian is a plus.
