**Job Description Summary**: Avio Aero is reinforcing the focus to excellence in Turbine & Gearbox modules. In this spirit, we are looking for a talented Design Engineer expected to become Hardware Owner on Gearbox (GBX) and/or Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) components, supporting design activities within Services Engineering organization. The position is requiring leadership and important involvement into design activities for production support, design change, investigation for field issues with direct collaboration with product support engineering and a deep collaboration with the Manufacturing and Supply Chain departments, including also activities aimed to improving product manufacturability and producibility.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Build and strengthen technical expertise in aeronautical components.
- Support component design activities to achieve the objectives of performance, manufacturability, cost, and life.
- Support System Engineer on investigations activities to understand root cause and final fixing of field issues adopting TOPS8D methodology when required.
- Support Design Reviews in cooperation with chief engineer office.
- Support management of Quality Notifications (QN) for Gearbox and/or LPT components, (i.e., how to manage defective components).
- Proactively support activities with other Company departments (i.e., GSC, Quality, Product Support) and Suppliers to achieve producibility and manufacturability targets.
- Support the issuing of technical documents (i.e. models, drawings, reports, specifications) relative to the Components design.
- Support Source Substantiation (Validazioni Tecnologiche) activities.
- Support cost-out activities through cross-functional team.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university
- Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculation
- Have strong engineering outlook, hands-on engineering foundation and eager to learn
- Clear thinking, diligent approach, target oriented
- Willingness to directly interact with several internal and external customers
- Manage activities focusing on targets
- Ability to sort through information and make timely and sound decisions
- Able to prioritize work, and communicate openly in stressful situations
- Fluent written and spoken Italian and English
- EU Work Permit

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Good knowledge of FE analysis and CAD software
- Passionate, curious, and enthusiastic for engineering challenge
- Previous experience in a similar role will be a plus
- Experience on gearbox and/or LPT components manufacturing processes
- System mindset and problem solver
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
