Position: Assistant Underwriter
- Permanent Contract - Full time

About the role:

- As Assistant Underwriter for our Italian branch - you will be employed by our legal entity Tokio Marine Europe S.A. Rappresentanza Generale per l’Italia, that trades under the Tokio Marine HCC name. You will perform underwriting assistance to the Senior Underwriter for our Japanese Business across Italy.

Key Responsabilities:
- Review policies and present the information with observations in a clear manner to the Underwriting team (loss ratio analysis, performance of the account, global client relation analysis) and gather the information of specific queries on the account (consider changes on renewal)- Assist in preparing reports and monthly closing summaries.- Ensure that responses to broker’s inquiries are dealt with in a timely manner.- Maintaining the portfolio database up to date- Follow up on the renewal of the portfolio and its related documentation- Provide guidance to the Administration team to process policies/endorsements via the system and ensure adequacy of the related issued documents- Perform data quality checks on input from the Administration team- Collect information and liaise with our Compliance team when required
- Skills and competencies required:
- Fluent in Italian and English- Some experience working with commercial insurance lines of Business and related products (Example: Property, Casualty, Marine )- Proactive approach in resolving problems and in taking ownership of tasks- Experience working within a team and with internal and external stakeholders- Good written and verbal communication skills- Good organizational and analytical skills- Experience working with Microsoft Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Skills and competencies preferred:
- Any additional European language is a plus- Experience working within a multinational company and/or multicultural environment is a plus
