Vendor Accountant

**General Accountant - Maternity Cover - Firenze, Italy**

Gilbarco Veeder-Root is a global company with an office in Firenze. The finance team in Italy consists of five members, each specialising in different areas such as General Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and Accounts Payable.

**Commencing early January**for approximately six months, with the possibility of extension.

**_ This is a great opportunity to hone your existing skills and gain exposure to other areas of Finance._**

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Providing maternity cover for approximately six months, starting early January, with a possibility of extension.
- Managing accounts payable processes.
- Handling manual journal entries.
- Supporting various finance functions within the Italy finance team.
- Collaborating with local and international colleagues and stakeholders.

**What You'll Bring**:
**Experience and Skills**:

- Ideally 2-3 years or more in finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable.
- Experience managing manual journal entries.
- Understanding of Italian GAAP mandatory; knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Good Excel skills, including formulas, data manipulation, and reporting.
- Ability to work well under deadlines, with good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Comfortable working in a team and communicating with international colleagues.

**Technical Requirements**:

- Experience with ERP systems, especially JD Edwards (JDE).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Desirable: Experience or knowledge of Oracle HFM/Hyperion or SAP.
