IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for a Bioinformatician to join Alessandra Petrelli’s Tissue and Systemic Immunity Lab and the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) and the Center for Omics Sciences (COSR).
The applicant will be based in a very dynamic research hospital and benefit from close interactions with one of the largest and most active genomic centers in Italy, where a team of bioinformaticians share resources and expertise towards the resolution of new computational challenges in data analysis. The COSR has a sound expertise in the analysis of many different NGS types and fosters a genomic culture within the San Raffaele hospital, actively collaborating with researchers and clinicians both in and outside the hospital. The successful applicant will perform bioinformatic analyses mostly on transcriptomic data, but also on epigenomic and genomic datasets, in the context of multiple projects in the Petrelli Lab, aimed to dissect the dynamics of T cell responses in type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
In Petrelli Lab, bioinformatic analyses are complemented by several different molecular and cellular techniques, including high-dimensional flow cytometry and functional assays.
**Main activities**:
bioinformatic analyses on transcriptomic, epigenomic and genomic data;
bioinformatic projects within the Center for Omics Sciences;
proactive participation to scientific discussions;
production of scientific reports and research papers.
**Who we are looking for**:
previous experience in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis;
a demonstrated proficiency in coding;
a broad interest in immunology;
