Company Description Italian Itinerary is an exclusive travel design company specializing in creating custom Italian experiences, no matter how specific or unique. For our clients, we put together a curated Italian experience, through our local contacts and vast experience organizing events, productions and so on throughout Italy, to create the most authentic and bespoke experience possible. These itineraries will not just be tours of the "classic" monuments. Rather than just seeing, we believe in involving people in their Italian itinerary. We are supporters of the concept of #slowtravel #slowitaly. We assist every step of the way - from hotels and transport to food and wine, to private tours and lessons, creating the Italian vacation that will be the trip of a lifetime. Our market is aimed at Anglo-Saxons (Brits, North Americans, and all English speaking countries), so fluent English IS required for this internship, and residency in North America is preferred, but not mandatory. **Job Description**: Ironic is looking for a highly motivated intern who is interested in learning about marketing and social media in the tourism sector. As an intern, you would be an essential part of our team. Interns would have specific tasks, deadlines and would take full responsibility for their projects. Ideally, a commitment of at least 15 hours per week is required, for a minimum of 4 months. **This is a virtual/online position and is an unpaid internship.** The Marketing/Social Media Intern will be primarily responsible for researching the current market, identifying the competition and targeting potential new US (initially) clients and partners, from marketing to lead generation to marketing materials. The main priorities of the intern are the following: - Conduct research on predetermined new markets and research markets to their fullest extent, including competitors. - Build a detailed database (on Excel) of targeted markets. - Take responsibility for building engagement on the Facebook (FB) page, including updating Ironic's "How To Use FB for Biz" guidelines document. - Research, create and schedule/publish posts on the Instagram page, including updates/additions to the "How To Instagram for Biz" guideline - The intern will use Hootsuite and/or other social media management sites as deemed necessary to assist in the timely scheduling of posts. - Assist in the development of marketing materials for this market as well as review/generate new e-marketing ideas for the client. - Assistance in drafting/writing promos for social media and website. **Qualifications**: - Motivated, autonomous and proactive - Excellent work ethic - Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills - Timeliness: Interest in marketing, promotions, social media and developing technologies - Advanced experience with all Office programs Additional Information Please send a detailed CV and include two (2) academic or professional references, together with a comprehensive cover letter outlining specifically: - why you think you are suitable for the internship, which of the duties would best suit you and why, and when exactly would you be available to start. - The internship is a virtual position. - The internship is unpaid. - The internship includes 15 hours per week x min. 4 months.
