Translated regularly participates in **consortium-based research projects at EU or national level**. In particular, earlier this year, Translated, as lead partner, won a grant for the CEF Europeana project **Europeana Subtitled**, which is starting in June 2021. **Your role**: This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate your impact, diplomatic and leadership abilities, working on innovation and new technology in a European context. **Your activities**: - management and implementation of R&D projects on Translated's behalf, reporting and escalating as needed - representing us in R&D projects/consortia, with EU authorities, at relevant events - managing project stakeholders' relationships and expectations - assisting in the definition of project specifications, involving all relevant stakeholders/teams and ensuring technical feasibility and resource availability - ensuring the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects - tracking progress through a solid project plan - creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation - implementing quality control processes - organising the project's EU reporting tasks (activities, management, financial/costs) - actively engaging in business development activities, such as - conception and writing of new research proposals - finding new ideas, calls, partners - delivery of high-quality presentations at events - networking - establishing and maintaining relationships with third parties - following the evolution of emerging trends in technologies and identification of new concepts **Desired qualifications**: - master's degree in either science or business, with a strong interest in the other - 8+ years of experience managing EU consortium-based projects - English language at level C2, great writing skills - strong professionalism **Contract**: You will work from our offices in Rome, Italy. Currently, most of our colleagues are working from home, of course. We expect you to start in May 2021. We are offering an 18-month contract at first, which would ideally be extended or turned into a permanent contract when it expires. The salary will be about 45 000 to 55 000 € gross, according to experience. It might be further subdivided in a fixed part and a performance bonus. According to interests, we are open to different working arrangements, such as freelance work. Choose a career at Translated and enjoy an innovative international environment where challenging and interesting work is part of daily life. **Europeana Subtitled: project description**: The outreach and impact of audiovisual content on the Europeana platform is currently limited by two factors: the actual quantity of curated content on the platform that can be easily reused by various user groups, and the lack of multilingual access to audiovisual content, which is often only available in the language in which is was originally created. Europeana SUBTITLED addresses both issues. First, seven archives will provide thousands of high-quality professional audiovisual material to Europeana around the theme "Broadcasting Europe”. Combined, this invaluable collection highlights social, political and cultural changes in Europe as seen through the television screen. Second, the technical partners in the consortium will develop and integrate a pipeline for the automatic generation and subsequent human validation of closed captions and English subtitles. Through the direct involvement of the Europeana Foundation the pipeline will be made available, at scale, as part of the Core Service Platform, allowing the wider Europeana community to create subtitles for many more audiovisual collections on Europeana. In this way, Europeana SUBTITLED will enable audiovisual media to be enjoyed by a huge diversity of users by dramatically increasing the accessibility and reuse of video content through its closed captioning and subtitling. **About Translated**: Translated is on a mission to make content in all languages accessible to everyone.
