Your challenges

National legislation is of increasing importance to the VELUX Group, especially concerning energy efficiency, indoor climate, health and environmental issues related to the building industry.

Being part of a regional team, you report to the Head of Public Affairs, Region Southern Europe with a dotted-line relationship to VELUX Italy Market Director. As a Public Affairs Manager, you will act on behalf of VELUX in establishing our Public Affairs effort and expressing VELUX voice with external stakeholders in Italy; setting the direction for healthier and more sustainable buildings.

Your primary tasks will involve:

- Monitor and influence relevant policy with a focus on most business-critical issues,
- Maintain living record of relevant policy, summarise threats and opportunities and brief internal stakeholders regularly,
- Develop and implement Public Affairs actions plan on selected policy dossiers focussing on most business-critical issues as well as Public Affairs Global priorities including external Sustainability advocacy,
- Stakeholder management, including building network and maintaining good relations to relevant stakeholders and authorities,
- Preparing position papers, presentations and consultations,
- Co-operate with media colleagues to push the agenda on healthy buildings and Sustainability issues,
- Engage dialogue and develop cooperation - direct contacts, events, conferences - with relevant local urban planning authorities/municipalities.

You will be based in Italy (with good transport connections to ensure ad hoc presence at VELUX Italy (Verona Province) and be a part of a global organization. You can expect to travel approximately one-third of time annually - both nationally and internationally.

Your qualifications

You have minimum 4-5 years of experience working with Public Affairs issues i.e. from National Parliament, Government Department, Trade body or association, companies or public affairs agency, or experience working within the construction industry in a role with some crossover.

You possess the ability to work independently as well as in teams. You have a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication as well as interpersonal skills. You are accustomed to use the various communication channels including social media.

Moreover, we expect you to have:

- A relevant degree from University, Business School, Engineering or Architect school.
- A sound understanding of relevant building regulations and standards
- Experience working on building/construction policy and legislation
- Ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent English skills (Fluent)
