**Internship from February 2025 for 6 months**

**Introduction**
- As part of core business of SBM Offshore as ocean solution provider (i.e. Floating Windfarm, FPSO ), installation of its own product is a key component. Offshore delivery on time of such large project on several part of the world matters for our clients and shall cope with strong metocean conditions that offer few weather windows. In this perspective, installation methodology and associated accuracy is a strong factor of success. As part of SBM Offshore, you will lead your study jointly with live projects execution, handle design tool and be in touch with several engineering disciplines such to achieve your objective.
- One of the offshore structure positioning methodology is based on model prediction and as-built records. However, accuracy of available as-built records is not sufficient and shall be compensated by offshore measures (i.e. load cell tension). Objective is to develop robust methodology to process this records, using hydrodynamic model used during design stage and develop methodology to improve prediction accuracy.

**Your Role**
- There is no cursus that prepares to jump into offshore installation world. Although you will first start working in group and out of your comfort zone on true study case during which you will explore various tools, meet engineering & operational teams of the department as well as presenting your work on each sprint (every 3d).
- Starting from there and using commonly used hydrodynamic tool (i.e. Orcaflex), you will start to elaborate your plan and model prototype to be further developed once approved by involved disciplines managers. Your methodology will be tested against on-going and past projects such to evaluate it in a real world.

**Job requirements**
- 3rd year of engineering school with mechanical, hydrodynamic or data scientist background;
- Programming skills and Python knowledge are a plus (learning along the internship);
- Capability to understand the overall offshore operation combining various engineering discipline;
- Good written and oral communication skills (English);
- Familiar with Python, Matlab and data-science is a plus;
