General Summary

Manufacturing engineering junior specialist in assembly systems&tools and automation, knowledgeable of lean production principles, dedicated to support plant equipment optimization, process improvement and new product industrialization in Construction Equipment manufacturing plants across the world.

Working location: TBD

Travel: Available to travel up to 50% of the time to Regional plants and suppliers; and occasionally travelling in other regions.

Language: Can speak and write fluent technical English. Portuguese, Hindi and Italian are second preferred language.
- Essential Job Functions:
Plant support
- Support plants in deploy assembly or trimming projects and promote best practice implementation and diffusion, with a particular focus on layout, equipment and tooling.
- Support development of innovative solution, mainly in assembly processes to increase plant efficiency, process robustness and plant flexibility.
- Support and coordinate main investments in assembly areas.
- Support tool and equipment sourcing; assist with supplier selection process including project quotations and Requests for Quotation (RFQ). Prepare equipment specifications for new equipment in agreement with plant specialist.

Major Projects & Footprint
- Contribute to business study preparation and presentation.
- Contribute to new process definition and optimization, lay-out, tools and equipment study, purchasing and installation, equipment cycle time, material flow and manpower

Technical Innovation
- Share Best practices across plant contributing to the manufacturing community development

Standardization and Governance
- Guide plant in the development of Capital Approval Request documents and provide support to the ME PMO in the preparation phase.
- Minimum qualification / requirements:
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Minimum 1 year work experience in mass production assembly, or in automation, or in central manufacturing engineering staff as Assembly engineer.

Personal / Technical skills
- Effective communication and project presentation capacity, time management ability
- Ability to work in a matrix team environment and in a fast paced, multicultural work environment.
- Excellent relationship skills, ability to work under pressure
- Capable to read component, assembly and equipment drawings
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
