Security Specialist

**Duties**:

- Serve as a Security Specialist (Foreign Disclosure Officer) for the Intelligence Support Division, Operations Intelligence (OP INTEL) (G-2) Directorate, with U.S. Army Africa (USARAF).
- Responsible for the release of information to other federal officials, international offices or individuals, Intelligence Community organizations, and foreign services.
- Develops and implement strategies to satisfy requests for intelligence information.
- Reviews requests and/or reports and recommends responses to domestic and/or international requestors in accordance with USARAF disclosure policies and procedures.
- Provides advice, guidance, recommendation and interpretation of foreign disclosure policy and procedures.
- Briefs and present on Foreign Disclosure programs.
- Participates in agency, interagency, and inter-organizational working groups concerning foreign disclosure issues, processes, and procedures.
- Formulates foreign disclosure procedures and the coordination of complex and multiple staffing actions.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Requires extensive travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% of the time, on very short notice. Anthrax vaccination will be required. Frequent extended duty with long hours under high pressure with generally high-risk job responsibilities.
- May be required to undergo psychological screening.
- Must sign a mobility agreement.
- his position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
- Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
