**Position Summary**: As a key member of the Global Transport Team reporting to the Transport Business Manager - Europe and Emerging Markets, the **Business Development Executive** will be responsible for Business Development and the profitability of the key account business and projects across Italy. Within the current organisation structure there is also a requirement to respond to leads and enquiries from the French market, and support within other Western European markets as needed:

- Develop and implement a strategic direction and expand all our bus and coach business opportunities.
- Has a profile in the regional bus industry that is positive and positively promotes Altro’s brand through association.
- Support for Bus Operators, OEMs and other customers in the relevant sector.
- Integrate and collaborate with European and Global commercial team colleagues to focus the global transport business as a whole and provide strategic input.
- Participation in the development of new products.
- Increase in sales and net profitability of identified strategic customers and markets. Developing relationships by working with internal and external cross-functional teams as part of the KAM approach.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Planning and implementation of strategic sales and marketing measures to maintain and expand customer contacts and obtain Bus and Coach specifications.
- Establish and maintain deep reaching contacts throughout customer Key accounts within each key department.
- Promote Altro’s products and services and protect Altro’s brand.
- Establish new contacts with potential customers, end user operators be that private or local government municipals and Bus Interior Designers.
- Developing the sales of Value-Added Services across key customers.
- Targeted new customer acquisition, the qualification of incoming contacts, the maintenance of existing customer contacts and provide quality feedback.
- Operational sales (product presentation, preparation of offers as well as control and coordination of the sales process up to the conclusion of the contract).
- Active role in the development of acquisition concepts and participation in trade fairs and other sales events.
- Market observation and idea generation.
- Analysis of customers according to development potential, trading margin, turnover and profit situation.
- Active support of the Voice of the Customer initiative.
- Preparation of detailed turnover and competition analysis.
- Implementing agreements with customers, agents, and distributors.
- Work with the price agreements set by the Global Transport framework.
- Management of customer projects and associated orders with internal cross functions.
- Further duties as deemed necessary by the CEEM Transport Business Manager.
- _For the avoidance of doubt, the functions performed by the employee located in Italy should be limited to auxiliary functions such as support of sales activities, creating policies and strategies, and does not include the concluding of contracts._

**What We're Looking For**:
It is essential that the person has experience of working within the Bus Industry in Italy. That they can leverage contacts from within the industry to make an immediate impact in the role. The person should be able to demonstrate an understanding of OEM and Operator sourcing processes with the aim to ensure Altro’s products are specified in new vehicle designs

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years in sales working within the Bus industry within Italy, preferably in a direct sales role; knowledge and experience of the Bus market in France preferred
- Field sales experience
- Extensive sales / key account management experience
- Bid and Project Management experience

**Skills**:

- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- Negotiation & Influencing skills.
- Able to communicate and present at all levels.
- Effective networking skills

**Education**: Degree in Business Management, International Business.

**Languages**: Fluent in Italian and English, verbal and written.

**Other**: Valid driving license
