**The postholder will be in charge of**:

- Supporting co-funding decisions in Earth Observation industrial innovation sector;
- evaluating commercial, financial and investment information and performing market assessment studies typically for the purpose of supporting entrepreneurial initiatives;
- Assessing, recommending and monitoring from commercial and financial point of view high-risk/high-potential entrepreneurial developments initiatives based on co-funding and other financial risk-mitigation provisions;
- Collecting and interpreting entrepreneurial commercial and financial data, such as company
- financial statements, business plan, P&L and BS;
- Monitoring trends and emerging opportunities in the global space market, and in particular in
- the EO market;
- Linking with the space community including industry, private investors, venture builders, academic institutions and research centers, in order to support the identification of promising entrepreneurial initiatives in space and in EO in particular;
- Supporting the establishment of partnerships with new actors entering the space sector (and in particular in the EO one), especially for companies (start-ups, SMEs, and Large System Integrators), venture capital investors;
- Conducting socioeconomic studies and market analysis to document the value and impact of space product and services (in particular EO) according to CIP-I recommended methodologies.
- Knowledge of and five or more year’s working experience in the business development and/or analysis, preferably in commercial Space sector, ideally in Earth Observation;
- Strong competence in understanding and assessing company commercial and financial data, such as financial statements, business plans, P&L and BS statements;
- Master’s degree in finance or business with further education in business management, e.g. a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree;
- Fluent in the English language (spoken and written). Knowledge of another European language is an asset;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally;
- Result orientation, excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail.
