**BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT**:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
To support in this mission, WFP is seeking individuals to join the Career Management Branch (HRCM), of the Human Resources Division. The work of this branch strongly influences WFP’s approach to people management, and in turn, plays a key role WFP’s overall effectiveness. The individuals will be joining a dynamic team which works on a variety of initiatives including learning and development, career management and development, performance management, WFP’s internal promotion processes, staff engagement and support to diversity and inclusion.
The purpose of this call is to identify suitable qualified and experienced consultants in one or more of the following areas to populate a roster for the following profiles:
- Instructional Designer
- Learning Content Creator
Selected applicants will work under the overall guidance of Head of specific workstreams and will be working in close collaboration with other HR Branches, WFP functions and Country Offices.
**ACCOUNTABITLITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Instructional Designer**
- Provide guidance and expertise to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and to learning focal points on the development of learning solutions (e.g. learning needs analysis, formulation of learning objectives and KPIs, identification and development of appropriate design and delivery mechanism to meet needs of target audience, guidance in development of programmes, evaluation of learning outcomes and business impact)
- Ensure that best practice methods and approaches are reflected in the learning solutions created, and provide advice and guidance on the best use of a range of online learning tools (mainly Articulate360 - Storyline and Rise)
- Carry out in depth pedagogical analysis, support the development of case studies and training scenarios, and develop detailed course outlines and storyboards
- Create compelling communication materials and processes to increase awareness and take-up of learning solutions and resources delivered
- Design and develop materials for highly interactive and participatory remote and face-to face training sessions
- Other projects and initiatives within the team, as required
**Learning Designer and Producer (Instructional Technology) Specialist**
- Design and produce online resources, blended activities centered around current and emerging instructional technology and workforce trends
- Develop a variety online self-paced learning resources with different levels of interactivity and complexity (branching scenarios) using the Articulate360 suite
- Develop assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness of learning and development interventions
- Integrate resources as appropriate with the corporate Learning Management System WeLearn (Crossknowledge)
- Curate internal and external learning resources for specific initiatives/audiences, managing thematic learning pages within WFP corporate learning platform
- Analyse current and emerging technologies for viability within instructional/classroom settings (e.g. mobile app, VR, etc)
- Create infographics, videos, audio voiceover, interactive simulation, creative text and animated learning solutions
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
**Education**:
Advanced university degree in Human Resources, Organizational Design and Development, Social Sciences, Learning and Development or related field.
**Experience**:
- At least 1 years of work experience in instructional designer and/or learning content creator roles
- Demonstrated experience developing complex course outlines taking into considerations in working for an international company/organization
- Demonstrated deep understanding of the complexities of an HR function that have to manage employees in humanitarian organizations and/or international companies
- Demonstrated experience in working in strong partnership with all HR areas and with external vendors
- Previous experience in learning and development roles is considered a distinct advantage
