**Job Description Summary**:
The Lead Buyer is responsible to manage the purchase of indirect materials and equipment for the manufacturing process (CAPEX) and related activities (e.g. upgrade hw&sw, installation, and retrofit), exploring purchase opportunities, leading projects to implement Sourcing’s strategy, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationship, contributing to the team’s activity, developing with cross-functional teams costs, product and SC performance.
**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Under supervision of his/her manager, the Lead Buyer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs and processes for an area of business segment, specifically but not only the CAPEX commodity at Avio Aero Sourcing. In this role you will use your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and impact short term and some long-term business goals, in particular contribute to team’s activity aimed at reduction of total lifecycle cost of products and services
- Working closely within the Avio Aero’s Supply Chain teams and colleagues from other divisions you will:

- Implement Sourcing’s Strategy optimizing costs on assigned commodities using negotiations, E-Auctions, re-design and operations’ cost-per-hour rate reduction initiatives
- Be responsible for CAPEX procurement to meet the requirements of the business, providing coordination and leadership in procurements activities- Drive daily supplier selection and bidding (RFQ), price negotiation process, issue of Purchase Orders and act as the Sourcing owner in regards of pricing, fulfillment and compliance
- Achieve lowest possible costs, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs
- Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, determine potential sources, obtain bids, and plan programs to meet business needs
- Provide coordination and leadership in procurement activities for assigned commodities
- Contribute to Company’s objectives through effective negotiation of requirements by aggregation of demand and supplier consolidation within AvioAero’s premises.
- Analyze sourcing data in order to support development of an appropriate negotiating strategy that will maximize the savings opportunities
- Lead contract development and prepare contracts for execution with legal and other approving departments to ensure adequate protections are included
- Develop and lead simplification projects
- Review indirect requisitions (RdA) for accuracy, supporting documents and compliance to procedure
- Adhere to company and department’s policies and procedures
- In doing so, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field required
- Fluent in both Italian and English
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Proactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy
- Strong negotiations skills
- Team working
- EU Work Permit

- Knowledge of marketplace, current market conditions, pricing and sources of supply
- Ability to work proactively to solve problems and work independently
- Positive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organization
- Understand strategies for assigned commodities & proactively drive initiatives to meet Sourcing objectives.
- Professional working knowledge of SAP MRP software system
- Experience in commercial negotiations
- Previous experience as buyer is preferred
- Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
