Senior Tax Manager

**Your role and responsibilities**:
In this role, you will enable ABB Corporate Tax function to manage direct/indirect tax matters optimally in Italy and ensure global tax strategies are effectively implemented in Italy with the support of the local tax team. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid Reporting to Cluster Tax Lead Western/Southern Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, this role is based in Milan, Italy. You will be mainly accountable for: - Oversee compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations; monitor and implement legislative changes. Support with annual statutory audit (for material tax items). Review and approve SOPs. Acts as internal tax advisor in complex tax matters for Tax Operations team in hubs or CoEs coordinates the resolution of tax issues. - Identify country tax planning opportunities and pursue any available incentives in relation to new investment, R&D, Capex etc. Proactively identify and manage risks. Propose mitigation measures and implement with the support from Tax Practice teams where required. Advise on any cash repatriation matters (such as dividend distribution), reduction of share capital, or capital increase. - Analyse potential tax implications for transactions and business projects (including cross-border projects, reorganization projects, new investments, ERP migration etc..). Provide Income Tax, WHT and VAT related advice to Business colleagues in Italy, as well as ABB tax colleagues in relation to bidding and projects in Italy. - Ensure transfer pricing guidance are properly followed. Ensure country transfer pricing documentation is in place and country specific compliance requirements are fulfilled (e.g. CbCR notifications, etc). - Liaise with Tax Authorities as required. Manage tax audits and disputes for taxes in scope of CF-TA accountability, together with Practice teams/tax advisors for most complex cases and with the support of Tax Practice Leads and other relevant stakeholders (Tax Operations, Business...) and external tax advisors where needed. - Be involved in M&A projects. Support Legal Entity Management (LEM) initiatives, including simplification and/or exit and/or closure of BoAs (e.g. PE or VAT deregistration). - Oversee all income tax accounting and reporting activities; Ensure correct tax numbers and disclosures in the quarterly and annual reports. Sign-off FIN48/FIN14 assessments. Perform tax reconciliation for the 5 Quarters Rolling Forecast (5QRFC) process. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax procedures. Ensure compliance with internal controls and sign-off assurance letter. Deliver training to key internal stakeholders. You will join a high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

- You have at least 8 years of experience in tax area (direct and/or indirect tax).
