Thales Alenia Space in Italy is one of the main European player in supporting ESA in the design, development and verification of the main European Global Navigation Satellite Systems, namely GALILEO, the European GNSS Systems already providing navigation signals worldwide, and LCNS, the Lunar Navigation and Communication System planned to be used in support of feature mission on the Moon. The Navigation System department of Thales Alenia Space in Italy is looking for a PRS Service Engineering and Validation Engineer that, reporting directly to the Head of System Design and Performance Unit, can support the execution of the ongoing programs related to the PRS service definition and exploitation, contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities and foster the Research & Development activities in the PRS service domain.

**Location**: Rome.

**Task description**:
As PRS Service and Validation Engineer, she/he will contribute to the main project under the responsibility of the Navigation Department of Thales Alenia Space in Italy in the PRS domain through the following main tasks:

- PRS Service Requirements Engineering activities, including requirement definition/derivation, justification, apportionment at lower level (Space, Ground), traceability and definition of relevant verification method;
- PRS Service concepts definition, including the preparation of the relevant justification files;
- System Trade-offs analysis, End-To-End PRS Performance analysis and System budgets analysis (for the PRS part);
- Contribution to the Preparation and Maintenance of the PRS Service Development Plans
- Contribution to the definition and the maintenance of the PRS Service Validation Plans
- Support the definition and the evolution of the PRS Service KPIs and the Service level targets for specific deployment stages
- Contribution to the definition of the PRS Service Operation Concept
- Acting as technical interface with the Customer, including coordination of the Navigation Engineering Team, as needed
- Supporting the Head of Division and the Head of Department in defining the strategy to capture new Business opportunities in the PRS Domain
- Leading proposal preparation in the area of PRS area aiming to enlarge the business related to Navigation Domain
- Contributing to internal R&D activities in the area of advanced navigation projects;
- Contributing to the development/usage of navigation system laboratory facilities and analysis/simulation tools
- Maintaining state-of-the-art expertise in the field of navigation system by fostering cooperation with university and supporting the growth of the young engineers of the Department
**Language**:fluent English, spoken and written

**Personal requirements**:
Knowledge of Satellite Navigation and Communication System, with a consolidated knowledge of Galileo PRS Service.

Proven expertise in the usage of System Engineering Tools (e.g. MBSE Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Simulation Tools, etc.).

Knowledge of the main Space Engineering Standards and Processes (e.g. ECSS standards).

Distinct propensity to team working and problem solving, proactivity and attitude to find innovative solutions.

A master’s degree in electronic, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering or equivalent is required.
