Your Role:

The Academic Affairs Coordinator contributes to the local Academic Affairs team in the many academic functions at the CEA CAPA Florence Study Center. The Coordinator serves as a resource for both students and faculty in the preparation of programs and in their daily delivery.  This position works closely with the Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs to prepare and reserve for—and occasionally – accompany onsite field studies with faculty, keep track of course costs and helps with the editing of course syllabi.  

What You'll Do:

Academic Administration

  • Partner with Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs to work accurately with academic records programs and learning management systems on:
    • Add/drop
    • Attendance 
    • Syllabus checks and course logistics forms.
  • Collaborate with other academic staff and IT resources (local and non) to ensure proper functionality of classroom technology.
  • Assist in the training, support, and troubleshooting of faculty and students on CEA CAPA's academic and learning support systems:  Canvas, Online UNH Library and Salesforce.
  • Assist in presenting regular faculty meetings to ensure faculty are abreast of policy changes, expectations, new systems and to allow for conversation.

Faculty Support

  • With Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs, disburse course fund monies to professors for site visits, guest speakers, field trips, etc. and ensure accurate expense reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Be available for Custom Program visiting faculty to assist with queries and difficulties during their program.
  • Occasional proctoring of exams.

Student Support

  • Inform professors of the approval of students' academic accommodations, and assist in their roll-out, as necessary.
  • Be available for students with academic difficulties that may arise during an academic session.
  • Assist Senior Coordinator, Academic Affairs to monitor student progress and academic success, and meet with those who exhibit problematic behaviors/attendance to help them to complete their program abroad in a positive way.
  • Support staff that deal with escalated Health & Safety situations.
  • When full-time, participate in Emergency Phone rotation.

What Makes a Great Candidate:

  • BA in any field of study, Master's degree is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Italian; authorization to work in Italy.
  • Knowledge of the city and its cultural offerings and learning opportunities.
  • Previous first-hand study abroad experience, and experience in working with study abroad programs.
  • Enthusiastic about studying abroad and international education.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office and Internet proficiency).

  • Skilled as both an independent worker and in working in a team; collaborative and able to work towards a common goal with a good sense of humor.
