Finance & Data Analyst

The Person

We are looking for a Finance & Data Analyst with strong data, IT, and analytical skills to reinforce its FP&A, controlling, and financial reporting activities. The role supports the Finance team in the analysis, controlling, and standardization of financial and non-financial data, primarily within SAP and Excel-based environments, leveraging SQL, Power Query, and Power BI tools. The position combines hands-on operational support with analytical and improvement-oriented responsibilities, contributing to data consistency, reporting automation, corporate governance, and business development initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the Finance team in the regular analysis and controlling of financial and operational data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and standardization across systems and reports.

Cost Controlling

• Ensure correct cost allocation in SAP
• Analyze costs vs. budget and forecasts
• Contribute to improvements in data accuracy and input processes

Reporting & Data Quality

• Maintain and improve SAP-based financial and management reporting
• Analyze and enhance warehouse and transactional data structures

Business Plan & Unit Economics

• Update and maintain Excel-based Business Plan models
• Ensure consistency of Unit Economics files used by the Sales team

Investor & Corporate Finance Support

• Update pitch decks, VDRs, and financial documentation
• Support financial modeling, project finance, and Advisory Board preparation

Cross-Functional Financial Analysis

• Analyze sales funnel and commercial data
• Support market and competitive research

Functional Responsibilities

Finance & Controlling

• Support the Deputy CFO and Head of Accounting in SAP-based accounting and controlling activities
• Perform budgeting and actual vs. budget analysis

Data & Systems

• Extract and analyze SAP data using SQL, Excel, and native reporting tools
• Maintain and improve Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel models

Business & Investor Support

• Support Business Plan updates and scenario analysis
• Prepare financial data for investors and governance activities

Candidate Profile

Must-Have

• Basic SQL knowledge (SELECT, JOINs, WHERE, GROUP BY, CONCATENATE)
• Power BI and Power Query (merge, filter, index, group by)
• Advanced Excel skills (including XLOOKUP, FILTER, SORT, SORTBY, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, UNIQUE, VSTACK, HSTACK, SEQUENCE, TEXTJOIN)
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset
• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Fluent Italian and English

Nice-to-Have

• Previous experience in FP&A, controlling, or audit
• Exposure to startup or industrial environments
• Solid financial literacy (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet)
• Basic knowledge of Python

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or Management Engineering
