About the Job 

The position involves strategic oversight and management of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases within controlled environments. This role requires a deep understanding of database states during runtime and the ability to provide operators or administrators with advanced control and configuration tools to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining database stability and supporting business continuity through effective database management practices. Your leadership will be crucial in planning ahead for optimization and continuous improvement of our services for our customers.

What you do

Define goals and objectives for database management, devising strategies to ensure alignment with orgnizational targets and future needs, including migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.Lead efforts in proactive database monitoring, implementing sophisticated measures to preemptively address issues and optimize performance.Supervise and coordinate complex database incident management processes, ensuring timely resolution and strategic improvements to service delivery.Oversee advanced backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and readiness for disaster recovery across Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.Direct user administration tasks, including role management and access control, while leading security initiatives to maintain robust database integrity.Lead strategic customizations and capacity management efforts to adapt databases to evolving business demands effectively.Ensure databases are secure and up-to-date by leading the implementation of security updates and maintenance for all critical components.Engage and communicate with stakeholders, providing insights into database service risks and strategic plans to mitigate potential disruptions.

What you bring

At least 3 years of experience as a database administrator for Oracle databases.Senior-level knowledge of Oracle Database 19c and experience with performance tuning and optimization of Oracle databases.Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.User-level knowledge of Red Hat Linux.Scripting abilities (bash and/or Python).Very good communication skills in English (Ability to speak and write in English effectively).
