Teacher of Physics
St George's British International School is seeking an experienced Teacher of Physics to join our Science team on a full-time basis from September 2026. The successful candidate will be able to teach IGCSE Physics and IBDP Physics, at both Higher level and Standard level.

Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
■ Deliver Science teaching in Years 7 and 8 and specialist Physics teaching to Years 9 to 13 as required by the Head of Department
■ Demonstrate comprehensive subject knowledge up to and including IB Physics Higher level
■ Engage and motivate students to strive for the highest performance
■ Use tracking and monitoring to advance student learning
■ Keep abreast of new curriculum thinking, teaching methods and examination syllabuses and implement the IGCSE and IB syllabi as appropriate
■ Maintain and implement school and department policies and adhere to protocols outlined in the departmental handbook
■ Be aware of, and comply with, all the School policies including those for marking and assessment, teaching and learning and reporting
■ Develop and share schemes of work and resources
■ Contribute to the department's improvement/development planning and promote the learning priorities of the school's Vision, Mission and Values document
■ Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school, the academic Department and the IB Learner Profile Pastoral
■ Show an active interest in the personal circumstances of the children under your care, and foster their personal and social development
■ Actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
■ Create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all the school policies on pastoral care
■ Be familiar with all of the school's policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times
■ Promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst all students at all times
■ Be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children
■ Contribute to the extra curricular life of the school Professional
■ Promote pride in the school among the student body through high standards of dress, behaviour and commitment
■ Ensure that all communication is acted upon appropriately and in a timely manner
■ Attend Parents' Evenings, Assemblies and other school events during term time as the Head of School/Principal may, from time to time, require
■ Be responsible for all school resources, particularly those in your care, reporting damage or loss to the appropriate authority within the school
■ Contribute to the virtual learning environment, the website, social media and publications in support of your work
■ Contribute to the school's Self Evaluation and Strategic Plan
■ Foster a close partnership with parents, initiating contact in appropriate circumstances and ensuring that there is a record of this
■ Carry out any reasonable professional request made by the Principal or Head of School Personal Skills

Formal Qualifications / Experience
■ A good UK Honours Degree (or equivalent)

■ Verification of medical fitness (completion of a medical declaration)
