Science & Physics Teacher

We are seeking to appoint a passionate, dedicated and motivated Science and Physics Teacher, who will join our growing Middle and High School Team, starting from September 2026

The profile we are looking for will have excellent subject knowledge and will be able to combine academic knowledge and achievement with a passion for the subject to boost learning outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be mother tongue or equivalent in English, have proven experience in teaching Middle and High School and being familiar with experiential, project-based learning and IB programs inquiry would be a plus.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

o Scientific content and skills in English, and contribute to extra-curricular and other activities;

o Promote the 'mission' and philosophy of the school, ensuring that students are working towards being global citizens;

o Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students;

o Create a classroom environment that is inclusive and where all students feel comfortable expressing their views, opinions and needs;

o Manage effectively classroom behavior;

o Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach and assess effectively and take active responsibility for student progress;

o Communicate effectively to the school's stakeholders, being an ambassador for the school at all times;

o Take personal responsibility for professional development;

o Contribute to curriculum planning and development;

o Be flexible and adjust to the needs of the school, actively contributing to its development;

o Ensure school policies are understood and followed consistently;

o Supervise students during the school day outside of the classroom;

Education & Training

o Master's Degree in Physics or Science (or related field);

o Qualified Teacher Status or international teaching qualification;

o Qualified to teach children of Secondary school age;

o Few / many years of proven success in teaching and assessing mathematics and physics in various curricula;

o Knowledge of the IB curriculum would be a plus;

o Mother tongue English or C2 level;

o Extensive knowledge of Italian would be considered a plus.

The school

The Bilingual European School (BES) is the first and foremost bilingual school in Milan, with a curriculum spanning from pre-school up to high school. Our students start their education with a pre-school English full immersion, then the succeeding programs (Primary, Middle and High Schools) are all based on a 50%-50% integrated bilingual model (English / Italian), terminating with a double degree (Italian / International) in the last senior year, to allow students to enter the best universities in Italy and the world.
