Electronic and Firmware Engineer for Aerospace Systems

GAUSS Srl, an Italian private Company based in Rome, active in the development and launch of micro and nano-satellites, as well as related aerospace projects, is looking for an Electronic and Firmware Engineer to add to its workforce in its headquarters in Rome, Italy.

The candidate shall be graduated in Electronic Engineering or related specializations (Master's degree).

Minimum work experience: 1 years

Activities of the open position:

Design, development, integration, testing and debugging of electronic subsystems for micro-satellites and space applications.

Firmware programming of embedded MCUs used in subsystems (ARM / MSP430).

Essential criteria:

  • Systems requirements definition and analysis;
  • Analog and Digital system design;
  • Electronic design from concept to production (CAD schematic design, components selection, multilayer PCB layout, GERBER files production, product assembly and documentation);
  • Electronic circuit prototyping, and test capabilities;
  • Manual assembly of prototypes and components soldering (THD/SMD);
  • Altium Designer software or other PCB design software (proficient);
  • Use of electronic lab tools;
  • LabView programming environment;
  • C programming language;
  • English (minimum B2).

Desirable (extra) criteria:

  • Interest for space systems and activities;
  • Experience with Microsatellites systems;
  • Knowledge of clean room and ESD safety procedures;
  • MSP430, ARM and FPGA knowledge;
  • Electronic levels communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, LVDS etc…);
  • VHDL, JAVA, LabView (other…);
  • KiCad /OrCAD PCB Design suites;
  • Electronic simulation software.
