IT Infrastructure Engineer Specialist

Job Purpose
The job holder will be working towards managing IT Operations, Service Desk and Infrastructure, supporting computing platforms, storage and middleware (web servers, application servers, content management systems). This can include both the development of new functions and facilities and the on-going systems support of live systems. They will provide efficient support of the Allianz's applications and systems and perform the 1st level support/troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common problems, on desktop systems, applications and related peripherals.
The role reports to the IT Infrastructure Supervisor.

What you will do

• Configure hardware and software environments, incorporating all system components and inter-connectivity, both internally and to other computer platforms
• Ensure that efficient support is provided for the day to day running of all Systems/Networks
• Implement housekeeping standards for all systems in use and Guarantee data/media recoverability by managing the scheduling of system backups and database archive operations
• Maintain a good level of overall System/Networks support, by documenting the systems, by writing troubleshooting procedures, by analyzing and troubleshooting the problem situations reporting any deviations
• Participate in all phases of total system planning and in the generation of justifications and specifications for system requirements and enhancements
• If needed, provide quality technical support to users, to carry out smooth operation and manage the correction of live issues with the minimum disruption to the business; by analyzing and troubleshooting the problem situations, by coordinating with relevant teams/departments and/or by coordinating with external vendors
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (Compliance, Audit, IT Security, HR, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Allianz's standards   
• Implement the Group's IT security standards and ensuring proper security guidelines are followed, in liaison to the ISO
• Co-operate with the Global Team for changes/Problems/Incidents related with shared services
• Involvement in Global /Local IT infrastructure projects

What you bring 

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Development or related field. Postgraduate degree will be considered an asset
• 2-3 years of professional experience in similar positions in a multinational environment
• Familiarity with common backup strategies and backup tools
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Servers, VDI)
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Routing, DNS,)
• Experience with Microsoft technologies (Windows, O365)
• Experience with Incident / Request/ Change and problem management
• Customer service mindset and ability to work with business and technical stakeholders; proven track record of taking ownership of own area tasks to completion with low to no supervision
• Solid understanding of systems implementation lifecycle process; 
• High technical fluency both in Greek and English
