Corporate Intelligence Research Intern - Naples

The chance to build a better future is right in front of you

Do Work That Matters - Your role and responsibilities

Do you want to pursue a profession that is truly meaningful and impactful? At KPMG, you will have the opportunity to help clients, the company and colleagues address and solve the most current and complex challenges. KPMG Open Platform is our new innovation hub based in Naples, created with a view to developing high-tech service models and solutions for private companies and public administration. The consultancy areas include third party risk management, cyber security, program management on large transformation projects in the public sector, application maintenance and managed services.

Among these, the Corporate Intelligence team is an expanding part of KPMG.  The team helps clients address integrity and regulatory risks stemming from third-party relationships in a variety of contexts, from compliance and KYC to mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The team, which works globally through the KPMG member firm network, is made up of specialists with a range of regional and language expertise.

We are seeking a new team member to join our Corporate Intelligence group in the Naples office. Depending on the candidate's previous professional experience, the role may be offered as either Intern or Analyst. As part of our team, you will be tasked with:

  • Integrity due diligence and reputational research of third parties, focused on identifying reputational and regulatory risks, their organizational structure and providing analytical and succinct summaries of their relevance to our clients;
  • Asset tracing and source of wealth research aimed at identifying assets and/or verifying the career trajectory/lifestyle of high-net-worth individuals in the context of asset recovery or AML reviews.

Responsibilities

The research, retrieval and analysis of public record information are the starting point for the majority of corporate intelligence assignments. The main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting desktop-based research using a variety of specialist database resources, covering a wide range of corporate, media, credit and regulatory data across many jurisdictions;
  • Conducting iterative research using a variety of other online and offline public record sources, especially commercial registries and corporate databases in a variety of countries and languages;
  • Combining the above skills to deliver time-critical and relevant reports to clients.

You'll have the opportunity to grow professionally and tackle stimulating challenges, contributing to projects that help prestigious clients in our network manage complex challenges related to moments of disruption and transformation, thereby ensuring their success.

Come As You Are - Your skills and characteristics

This is the perfect opportunity for you if you have:

  • Academic qualifications or high school diplomas, ideally with a background in international relations, politics, law, economics and/or modern languages;
  • Excellent English and Italian communication skills, both written and oral, preferably with study or work experiences abroad;
  • Knowledge of an additional language that is a plus (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, German or French);
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines;
  • Ability to operate in a discreet and confidential manner;
  • Drive and commitment to deliver a high-quality service.
