We're looking for an experienced operator with entrepreneurial ambitions to lead a new venture as Co-Founder & CTO with our investment and the full backing of Founders Factory.

Waypoint is an AI-powered tax platform helping wealth professionals deliver smarter, faster, and more compliant advice to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). By automating research, modeling, and reporting, we replace fragmented workflows with a conversational AI co-pilot that enables clarity, compliance, and scale.

About The Role
As the AI/Tech Co-Founder (CTO), you will be the technical brain and builder behind Waypoint. You'll lead the development of our AI engine, orchestrate our data and RAG pipeline, and build the infrastructure that powers real-time, compliant fiscal intelligence.

You'll also work closely with the CEO to shape the product roadmap, culture, and team.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale the platform's AI infrastructure from MVP to robust, enterprise-ready solutions.
• Design and implement advanced RAG pipelines integrating unstructured tax/legal content with structured wealth and financial datasets.
• Continuously maintain and update a comprehensive database of fiscal regulations, tax laws, and relevant legal frameworks to ensure the AI system is always accurate and compliant.
• Deploy fine-tuned LLMs optimised for precision, compliance, explainability, and performance in regulated environments.
• Lead hands-on integrations and optimisations with LLM models (e.g.,OpenAI, Anthropic), vector databases (e.g., Pinecone), voice AI APIs (e.g. ElevenLabs), cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure), and modern frontend framework (e.g. NextJS, Vue).
• Explore, design, and implement AI agents to automate workflows, enhance user experience, and optimize system interactions.
• Manage technical diligence processes with enterprise clients, investors, and regulatory stakeholders.

Requirements

• Demonstrable track record of architecting, implementing, and scaling AI/ML systems, preferably in early-stage startups or fast-paced tech environments.
• Deep technical expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and LLM fine-tuning.
• Background in FinTech, RegTech, or enterprise SaaS
• Experience working with tax/legal data is a huge plus
• Excited to build in the open with short feedback loops and tight iterations
• Comfortable with ambiguity and ready to move fast
