HSE Engineer

Purpose of the position
As
HSE Engineer
, you will report to the
HSE Manager
and be part of the
Prevention and Protection Services Team
within the
HSEQ Function
.

You will contribute to the implementation of Saipem's HSE standards on site, supporting both Saipem's construction team and subcontractors in maintaining compliance with project, client and legal requirements.

How can you support us? Your responsibilities:

• Ensure the application of Saipem HSE standards, client requirements and local regulations in the Saipem construction site and subcontractors.
• Support the preparation, implementation and monitoring of project HSE Plans and Procedures.
• Perform daily inspections in the field, verifying compliance with Permit-to-Work system, risk assessments and method statements.
• Monitor subcontractors' HSE performance and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Promote HSE awareness through toolbox talks, training sessions and campaigns.
• Contribute to incident reporting, investigation and follow-up of corrective actions.
• Participate in risk assessments, job safety analyses and pre-task briefings.
• Provide technical advice to construction teams and disciplinary superintendents on safe execution of activities.

What are we looking for?
Education

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Safety Engineering or similar field.

Experience

• At least 1–3 years of experience as HSE/Safety Engineer preferably in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or Industrial sectors.

Languages

• Good command of English and Italian (written and spoken).

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of HSE regulations (Italian legislative framework and EU directives).
• Familiarity with Permit-to-Work systems, risk assessment and emergency response.
• Strong background in HSE audits, inspections and incident investigations.

IT Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of HSE digital reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI) is a plus.
