BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

This assignment supports Q4 and year-end deliverables under the Security Strengthening Programme
and the Duty of Care Strengthening Programme. These initiatives aim to reinforce organizational
resilience, staff safety, and wellbeing in complex humanitarian contexts. The volunteer will help drive
integrated delivery across both programmes, ensuring alignment with governance, audit closure, and
risk management priorities during this critical phase.

DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Provide support to the Security Strengthening Programme (SSP) in implementing priority actions and
aligning deliverables with organisational risk governance.

• Assist with tighter integration between SSP and DoC SP workstreams to maximise synergies and avoid
duplication.

• Help the assigned coordinator with linking activities across both programmes during the DOC SP Phase 1
implementation.

• Assist the team leading on planning and design of DOC SP Phase 2, aimed at ensuring interdependence is
managed effectively.

• Assist assigned focal points with specific audit-related follow-up, including preparation of handover
documentation for Directors engagement with OIGI.

• Provide support to the Director heading the Duty of Care Interim Secretariat (DoC-1) in maintaining
accountability structures and preparstion for any governance reviews.

• As required, facilitate preparations for strategic events, including a possible E13.1/2026 side event on
humanitarian worker protection, ensuring coherent messaging and stakeholder engagement.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES


• Improved cross functional Audit Closure and Handover: Deliverables and findings from the Duty of Care
audit are consolidated, documented, and handed over.
Integrated Programme Delivery: SSP and DoC SP outputs are better aligned, with clearer
interdependencies mapped.

• Governance and Risk Positioning: Inputs for the Risk Committee are prepared, ensuring accurate
representation of Duty of Care in the

• Interim arrangements for DoC-I are reinforced, mitigating risks associated with temporary staffing and
fragmented governance.
