Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to drive critical cloud integration work. In this role, you will act as a technical architect for data pipelines, connecting complex enterprise systems. You will focus on building high-performance backend solutions that ensure seamless data flow across cloud infrastructure, enabling scalable and personalized experiences.

Location: LATAM (Remote) Time Zone: East / West Coast overlap required

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Ecosystem Integration: Design and develop backend integrations between internal data sources and external cloud environments.
  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL to ensure data consistency and high availability.
  • Backend Architecture: Develop robust server-side logic and API layers to support complex automation and data segmentation workflows.
  • Query Optimization: Write and tune complex SQL queries to handle large-scale datasets within cloud data architectures.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve synchronization issues, data bottlenecks, and API failures within the integration layer.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Cloud Architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical integration maps.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for code, development processes, and system configurations to ensure knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Backend Engineering, specifically focused on data-centric applications.
  • Language Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Python for automation and integration scripts.
  • Database Expertise: Advanced SQL skills, including experience with data modeling, complex joins, and performance tuning for cloud data warehouses.
  • Integration Background: Proven track record of successfully integrating third-party SaaS platforms with internal enterprise systems.
  • Cloud Native Mindset: Familiarity with modern cloud architecture and the challenges of managing data integrity across distributed environments.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS Experience: Hands-on experience with major Cloud Data or Marketing Cloud API integrations.
  • Modern Tooling: Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow), CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working with large-scale subscription-based data models.
