The HSE Specialist supports the Corporate HSE Manager/RSPP in ensuring robust HSE compliance and operational excellence across HQ companies and HQ/R&D sites, by coordinating recurring processes (training, occupational medicine, audits, communication, inspections, action tracking) and contributing to Corporate improvement programs on Health, Safety, Environment and Energy.

The role strengthens execution speed, data reliability, audit readiness, and engagement across different stakeholders, from shopfloor/lab environments to corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

1) HSE Governance & Compliance Support (HQ companies + HQ/R&D sites)

  • Support the HSE Manager/RSPP in the application and monitoring of Italian HSE legal requirements (e.g., D.Lgs. 81/2008) and internal standards.

  • Perform process and compliance checks (documentation completeness, legal congruity, internal procedure adherence).

  • Maintain structured evidence packs supporting internal/external audits and site reviews.

2) Training Management (Planning, Tracking, Effectiveness)

  • Coordinate the training plan (scheduling, invitations, attendance registers, reminders, renewals).

  • Track completion by role/population and support reporting to HSE governance forums.

  • Support deployment and maintenance of digital tools/workflows related to training requirements and job roles.

3) Occupational Medicine & Medical Surveillance Coordination

  • Support the planning and scheduling of medical fitness tests/visits and periodic surveillance activities, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and site needs.

  • Maintain trackers, deadlines, evidence, and interface with HR/competent doctor as needed (within delegated scope).

4) Audits, Inspections, Site Visits & Action Tracking

  • Plan and support internal audits, inspections, and site visits across HQ/R&D environments (offices, labs, test areas, contractors/temporary construction areas where applicable).

  • Record findings, manage action logs, follow up with owners, and support timely closure and effectiveness verification.

5) Communication, Campaigns & Safety Culture

  • Prepare and publish HSE communication materials (slides, posters, newsletters, intranet updates, toolbox content) aligned with Corporate initiatives.

  • Support safety campaigns and engagement actions (including leading indicators such as near-miss/unsafe condition reporting) and help translate technical topics into practical messages.

6) HSE Data Reporting & Dashboards

  • Collect, validate, and consolidate HSE KPIs (leading and lagging), ensuring accuracy, traceability, and readiness for management review.

  • Build clear reporting views (Excel/Power BI where applicable), supporting monthly/quarterly reviews and executive reporting.

7) Support to Corporate HSE / Environmental / Energy Improvement Projects

  • Contribute to Corporate-driven projects on Health, Safety, Environment and Energy, supporting planning, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and implementation tracking.

  • Support energy-related initiatives when requested (e.g., preparation of site data packs, action follow-up for audits, coordination of local stakeholders).

8) Tools, Digitalization & Document Control

  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of HSE tools/workflows (e.g., training matrices, medical surveillance trackers, equipment registers, SDS/MSDS document management, action trackers).

  • Support drafting and updating of procedures and operational instructions under the guidance of the HSE Manager/RSPP.

  • Corporate HSE / Sustainability / Energy teams

  • HR, Occupational Doctor / Medical surveillance providers

  • Real Estate / Facilities, Security, Engineering, Procurement

  • R&D / Lab Managers, Site leadership, employees and contractors

  • External auditors and service providers (as delegated)

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor's/Master's in Safety Engineering, Environmental/Chemical/Industrial Engineering, Law (with specific reference to Environmental and Labour Law) or similar (or equivalent experience).

Knowledge: ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 fundamentals; HSE compliance basics; risk assessment principles.

Languages: Fluent Italian; good professional English (written and spoken).

Digital: Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); ability to manage structured trackers and dashboards; confidence with digital workflows/tools.

Behaviours: Proactive, reliable, well-organized, able to work with multiple stakeholders, field-oriented mindset, clear communication.
