Do you have strong organizational skills, solid technical expertise, and hands-on experience in pulp & paper industrial environments?
Are you looking to play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities within a complex, continuous-process production setting?
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Lucca, Italy, supporting a long-term maintenance operations agreement at a state-of-the-art paper mill.
A strong background in the pulp & paper industry is essential for this role, as the position operates at the core of papermaking processes and equipment.
You will coordinate both daily and long-term maintenance activities, ensuring safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a demanding pulp & paper production environment.
Key Responsibilities
As Maintenance Coordinator, you will support the Maintenance Manager and act as a central link between operations, maintenance teams, and external partners:
- Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, including risk assessments, Work Risk Assessments (RA), and Work Method Statements (WMS).
- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate daily and weekly maintenance activities in close cooperation with supervisors and the Area Manager.
- Prepare weekly schedules, issue work orders, and assess manpower and skill requirements.
- Optimize internal and external resources, supporting cost control related to spare parts, services, manpower, and rework.
- Monitor KPIs and support performance tracking and continuous improvement.
- Lead and coordinate shutdown planning in a pulp & paper environment: prepare schedules, allocate resources, track execution, and ensure safety and quality compliance.
- Analyze shutdown performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure effective use of SAP CMMS, maintaining high-quality master data and supporting preventive maintenance and TPM activities.
- Manage and use technical documentation such as BOMs, drawings, SOPs, and maintenance procedures.
- Support spare parts purchasing, delivery follow-up, and usage analysis.
- Assist in warehouse and inventory management, including stock checks, MRP settings, and turnover analysis.
- Contribute to TPM implementation, long-term maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in the on-call rotation when required.
Requirements
- Technical degree or formal qualification in a relevant mechanical, electrical, or industrial field.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and coordination within the pulp & paper industry (or very similar continuous-process industries).
- Strong knowledge of papermaking processes and paper mill equipment is mandatory.
- Solid experience with CMMS / ERP systems (SAP required).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and maintenance documentation.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Good command of English (spoken and written); Italian is a strong advantage.
- Strong safety culture and HSE awareness.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Proactive, self-driven, flexible, and eager to learn.
- Strong teamwork mindset with a service-oriented approach.
- High level of accuracy, order, and attention to detail.
What We Offer
- A dynamic, international working environment within the pulp & paper industry.
