We are looking for a Maintenance Management Engineer specializing in 2-Stroke Engines. The main responsibilities include creating and managing maintenance plans for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and overhauls, preparing and monitoring the maintenance budget, selecting the appropriate Wärtsilä network for maintenance execution, and controlling the scope, cost, and quality of maintenance jobs.

The position is available in Trieste (Italy), Hamburg (Germany), or Moschato (Greece); at this time, we are not considering applications that require relocation.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Maintenance Management Engineer, 2-Stroke Enginesyou will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Create, update, and share the annual maintenance plan for each contract in the assigned area.

  • Update job plans with technical upgrades and changes, including spare parts lists, manpower, time, frequency, and maintenance schedules in the maintenance management system.

  • Keep asset meters, fluid management information, and all maintenance data updated in the maintenance system according to the established frequency.

  • Provide feedback to the contract manager when maintenance system information is not received from the customer.

  • Plan resources and competencies for executing work orders if contracted.

  • Communicate with contract managers, customers, external providers, maintenance coordinators, and logistic coordinators.

  • Plan maintenance for assigned customers/contracts and keep involved stakeholders informed.

  • Prepare maintenance budget input for annual contract budgeting.

  • Ensure technical insights during the contract lifetime are implemented and communicated to the contract manager and customer.

  • Proactively seek performance improvements for more efficient maintenance.

  • Provide maintenance overview reporting according to the contract interval.

  • Evaluate and coordinate with the most suitable Wärtsilä network company for upcoming maintenance jobs, discussing and agreeing on job scope, required labor, skills, and special contractual requirements.

Requirements for the position

  • Good knowledge and understanding of 2-stroke engine functionality.

  • Experience in maintenance management, particularly with 2-stroke engines.

  • Maritime experience is an advantage.

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good self-organization of activities (internal and external).

  • Structured and planned way of working.

  • Focused and can-do attitude.

  • Good cooperation, teamwork, and communication skills.
