LHH Lifescience is seeking a highly skilled

Business Development Manager
for an international company operating in the field of

inspection and packaging machinery
for the

pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and metal can industries
The role will oversee the commercial development of the
North American market
(USA & Canada), working with a high level of autonomy and reporting directly to the Global Sales Director based in Europe.

Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Market Development

  • Contribute to defining the annual sales plan, including objectives, market analysis, strategies, budget, and performance measures.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the U.S. and Canadian markets, with focus on pharmaceutical manufacturers and secondary segments (food & beverage, chemical).
  • Evaluate market dynamics and proactively recommend adjustments to strategy to ensure competitiveness.
  • Identify product gaps and long-term business opportunities, supporting roadmap and solution evolution.
  • Develop, qualify, train, and support rep/channel agencies, defining cooperation frameworks and ensuring performance
  • Maintain top-level relationships with key customers, managing negotiations and driving opportunity development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of orders, communications, and customer service needs.
  • Create and manage sales estimates, projections, budgets, and forecasts, submitting proposals for HQ approval
  • Monitor and report monthly on sales vs. targets, ensuring full visibility and accurate CRM data.
  • Support the Global Sales Director in evaluating pricing, distribution policies, and trade show strategy, including scheduling and participation

Your Profile
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year college).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the packaging machinery industry, within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and business development. Skills & Competencies

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong sales and customer development capabilities; proven success in developing distributor/agent networks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and in coordination with international teams
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and accountability, with strong ownership and "hands on" approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally as needed
