Procurement Account Manager Italy | Rome - Hybrid (On-site leaning) | Large Global Consumer Goods Group This unique opportunity sits within an important arm of one of the world's most established and respected multinational consumer goods organisations. With operations in dozens of countries, a strong European footprint, and a reputation for developing senior talent from within, this business plays at true global scale while retaining a sharp focus on professionalism, governance, and long-term value creation.They are now strengthening their Procurement function in Italy, one of their most strategic and visible markets in Europe, with the appointment of a Procurement Account Manager. This is a highly exposed role, working closely with senior commercial and operational leaders and acting as a trusted partner on major spend decisions.This opportunity suits someone who is as comfortable in front of senior stakeholders as they are deep in strategy, negotiation, and supplier management.What you'll be responsible for:Acting as a senior procurement partner to commercial, marketing, and operational stakeholdersTranslating business priorities into clear sourcing and category strategiesInfluencing decision-making across local, regional, and global teamsLeading complex negotiations and managing high-value supplier relationshipsDriving value beyond cost - quality, service, innovation, risk mitigationOverseeing contractual frameworks and ensuring compliance with internal and external standardsSupporting the deployment of global procurement initiatives within the Italian marketContributing to process optimisation, governance, and continuous improvementOperating confidently across indirect spend areas (e.g. commercial services, marketing, professional services, workplace solutions)This is a hands-on role with real autonomy, sitting within a mature but evolving procurement model.What they're looking for:Experience in procurement or commercial roles within large, complex organisations (FMCG or similar scale retail/parallel environments preferred)Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability - this will be assessed carefullyProven success leading negotiations and managing strategic suppliersAbility to operate across multiple categories and ambiguous problem setsSolid understanding of procurement governance, contracts, and riskConfidence working in a multinational, matrix environmentProfessional presence - someone credible at senior leadership levelFluent English and ItalianPeople management is not the core of this role, but leadership maturity absolutely is.Why this role stands out:One of the most strategically important European markets for the organisationExposure to senior leadership at local, regional, and global levelCompany: a reputation for internal mobility, state-of-the-art functionality and accelerated career progressionClear pathway from this role into executive-level procurement leadershipA culture that values rigour, professionalism, positivity and long-term careersHybrid working on paper, but best suited to someone who enjoys being present and visibleThis is not a "back-office" procurement role - it's a business-facing, high-impact position where visibility, judgement, and influence matter.
