Caritas Internationalis is a confederation of 162 Catholic national relief, development, and social service organisations.We are an expression of the Church's mission to preach the Good News and contribute to the building of God's Kingdom of dignity, justice and love for all.Our mandate comes from the life and words of Jesus Christ and from the vast wealth of Catholic Social teaching.Main ResponsibilitiesTogether with the Team Leader, prepare regular financial reports (such as monthly budget reports and monthly reports to Senior Leadership Team) as well as financial reports requested ad hocDevelop new reports, as needed, from accounting and other information systemsWork with the Team Leader in producing and providing other financial management informationIn coordination with the Team Leader and the Accounts Officer, contribute to the regular administrative activities, such as preparing membership fee invoices, reminding Members of their membership fee due, registering suppliers' invoices, making bookkeeping entries etc.Analyse financial information at the request of the Team Leader or the Director of Finance and Internal ServicesAssist the Director of Finance and Internal Services and the Team Leader in the overall budgeting of the General Secretariat and the production of financial projectionsContribute to the development of financial strategies and the four-yearly Financial FrameworkAssist the department directors at their request with budgeting for the following year and with analysis of budget reports provided to themContribute to the development and implementation of finance related procedures and protocolsDraft and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulationsCoordinate internal audits in accordance with CI's internal audit policy and proceduresDevelop and coordinate risk management processes at the General SecretariatEnsure – where needed in coordination with HR – administrative processes in relation to the Vatican institutions, such as requests for access cards or transit permits for vehicles to be requested from the governorate, and with other Vatican entities such as the Secretariat for the Economy, Secretariat of State, APSA, IOR, etc.Person SpecificationFull commitment in terms of transparency and accuracyBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.At least five years of working experience in accounting and controllingFluency in Italian (CEFR level C2) and excellent command of English (CEFR level B2) are required; French and/or Spanish are an assetAn excellent understanding of the Italian context, including relevant institutional frameworks, is mandatory.Proficiency in financial softwareExcellent capacity to communicate with people at all levels in a flexible and open-minded wayInterpersonal competencies commensurate with the requirements of a position focused on service provisionDemonstrated capacity of efficient, yet compassionate, administrationA demonstrable empathy and interest in the work of Caritas, and being a Christian, respecting the faith and values of the Catholic Church.LocationThe position will be based at the Caritas International General Secretariat in Vatican City State.However, work may also be carried out from alternative locations.ApplicationPlease send theCV, thecover letter(English language) by21st January **** (12:00 Rome time)to the attention ofDr.Yari Bergamasco, Human Resources & Legal Affairs Manager, toSeniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesNon-profit Organizations#J-*****-Ljbffr
