About Quintas Advisory Quintas Advisory is the advisory division of Quintas Group, which also includes Quintas Energy, Europe's largest independent platform for Asset Management and specialised services to investors in renewable energy assets, with more than 10 GW under management.With over a decade of expertise in technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of renewable energy, Quintas Advisory supports developers, investors, and lenders throughout the entire lifecycle of renewable projects, from development to operation, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and long-term performance.Position Overview We are seeking a Technical Advisor in Rome to join our expanding advisory team.This is a client-facing consulting role, designed for a highly experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of Italian grid connection and permitting frameworks for solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).The successful candidate will provide independent technical and regulatory advice throughout all project stages: development, construction, and operation; ensuring that ourclients' investments and strategies in Italy are fully compliant, technically sound, and optimised for long-term success.This is an advisory role, focused on technical assessment, risk identification, and strategic coordination, not on direct management of the permitting or grid connection processes Key Responsibilities Provide specialised technical and regulatory advisory services on grid connection for solar PV and BESS projects in Italy.Evaluate and review connection studies, technical documentation, and permits prepared by developers, EPCs, or network operators.Advise clients on connection strategies, regulatory risks, and grid compliance requirements in line with Italian authorities (TERNA, ARERA, CEI standards, DSO/TSO).Conduct and coordinate technical due diligence for project acquisitions, financings, and development-stage investments.Identify technical and regulatory risks across the project lifecycle and propose mitigation strategies to protect client interests.Support feasibility assessments, CAPEX/OPEX benchmarking, and performance evaluations for renewable portfolios.Collaborate closely with developers, engineering firms, and grid operators to ensure regulatory and technical alignment.Produce clear, comprehensive technical reports and presentations summarising findings, risks, and recommendations for clients and investors.Contribute to best-practice frameworks and knowledge development within the Advisory division, enhancing Quintas' technical excellence in the Italian market.Must have: Fluency in Italian and strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken).Engineering degree (Electrical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering preferred).Minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on grid connection, permitting, and regulatory advisory for solar PV and/or BESS in Italy.Strong understanding of Italian permitting frameworks and grid processes with TERNA and DSOs.Proven experience reviewing technical studies, permits, and grid documentation for utility-scale projects.Solid knowledge of MV/HV network design principles, connection codes, and grid compliance requirements.Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple advisory assignments simultaneously.Client-facing communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly and confidently.Nice to have: Experience with energy storage regulation, hybrid systems, and grid flexibility mechanisms.Background in technical due diligence for project finance or M&A transactions.Familiarity with European grid codes and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
