Tour Leader, Active and Cycling – Italy at Intrepid TravelAt Intrepid Travel we exist to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever – for both people and the planet.More than 34 years later, we are a certified B Corp with hundreds of trips in over 100 countries.OverviewAs a Tour Leader, you will inspire travellers, immerse them in local culture, and create unforgettable moments.Your day will vary, but you will provide amazing customer service, ensure safety, execute tours, and share your passion for travel.ResponsibilitiesProvide amazing customer service and travel advice – whether it's guiding a morning hike, a market visit, organising a hands-on craft workshop or arranging a home-cooked meal with a local family, you'll create unforgettable moments that travel-ers will never forget.Ensure the safety and well-being of your travellers, assisting in difficult situations whilst remaining calm and professional.Act as the first point of call for lost passports, medical needs, or conflicts.Host, lead and execute tours to budget, following the itinerary and fulfilling your administrative duties.Be passionate about travel and share your love of it with our customers.QualificationsExcellent communication skills in English and Italian.A valid GAE Licence – Environmental Hiking Guide (Professional Qualification), covering guiding on foot, by bike, kayak and other non-motorised activities in both protected and non-protected environments.Strong customer service experience, with a genuine passion for engaging and building rapport with a wide range of travellers.Solid hiking and/or cycling experience, with a good practical and mechanical understanding of hiking equipment, bicycles and basic maintenance.Confidence and a high level of fitness, with the ability to lead hiking days of up to ***** km and cycling days of up to ***** km.Travel and guiding experience in Italy and across Europe, with a genuine enthusiasm for sharing these regions and their stories with travellers.Basic computer skills, including experience using email, Word and Excel.Full rights to work in Italy (we are unable to assist with obtaining work rights).What you need to knowThis is a freelance agreement role, offering flexibility in when and how you work.Strong availability during peak seasons (May–June and September–October) is essential.We are recruiting leaders now, with training and onboarding scheduled for March ****.With extended hours, regular hiking and cycling activities, and constant engagement with travellers, you must be mentally and physically prepared for the demands of the role.You'll need to be comfortable spending time away from home, as leaders often travel for extended periods and some tours can run for up to four weeks.You'll be leading trips across Italy, with the opportunity to explore and share these regions with travellers.Example itineraries can be viewed at departures through the year to lead, including hiking, biking, festival, family, premium and foodie trips.Travel to where the trip starts (and home again) is included and covered by us.Some meals and all accommodation included (often where the guests are staying, such as hotels, camping, homestays).Access to learning and development programs, e-learning and comprehensive tour leader training before you even start.Internal career opportunities to further your career in travel and beyond.Amazing travel discounts for you to experience Intrepid as a passenger.Recognition and celebration with awards nights and the chance for our top performers to travel to our yearly Global Summit.Opportunity to support not-for-profit Intrepid Foundations projects.Our people reflect the diversity of our customers and the communities we visit.Intrepid is made up of 71 nationalities in over 30 countries, and we recognise that diversity makes us a stronger business.We support a culture where people can be themselves and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, including First Nations People, LGBTQI+ people, those living with a disability, or from disadvantaged backgrounds, and all people from different ethnicities, races, and religions.We are Real.Together.Ambitious.Impactful.These are our values and to us they're more than just words; they are the pillars of our success and every day it's our people and the work they do that bring them to life.#J-*****-Ljbffr
