and empowers you to own them to completion.As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will be part of a creative, diverse team tasked with solving fascinating problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers.Our data centers are industry examples of energy-efficient, cost-effective designs.You will work alongside partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to build Data Centers that directly support our customers.As our Data Center Project Engineer, you will support the teams that build some of the most interesting electrical and mechanical systems in the world.You will be on the construction site daily, interacting with construction managers and stakeholders, and be directly responsible for supporting the fast, high-quality delivery of our data center construction.The Data Center Project Engineer will be part of the onsite Construction Management team and will own the communication coordination with our vendors, information workflow, and coordination of document management, including requests for information (RFI), change orders, reports, and schedule updates.At Amazon, we are all Owners and leverage unique opportunities presented to working on a daily basis to develop innovative data centers for our customers.Key job responsibilitiesThe Data Center Project Engineer will be responsible for:Leading cross-functional communication and coordination between regional general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring seamless information flow for construction protocols, documentation access, and standardized proceduresDeveloping and maintaining comprehensive tracking systems for design modifications, RFIs, and change orders, creating detailed dashboards with priority levels and deadlines for regional leadership reviewEvaluating Method of Procedure (MOP) submissions for thoroughness, necessity, and risk assessmentManaging vendor onboarding processes, including security credentialing and orientation programsMaintaining current project management software with critical milestone updates, correspondence records, and document controlCoordinating and monitoring owner-furnished material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sitesEstablishing and managing a centralized repository for contractor-supplied construction dataOverseeing quality assurance programs through implementation of various checklists, including substantial completion verification, safety protocols, and quality control measuresA day in the life (not part of the formal responsibilities) – Why AWS, Diverse experience4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experienceBachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldBachelor\'s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 1+ years of relevant discipline work experienceExperience in vendor managementExperience in a data center or other critical environmentExperience in data center engineering or operationsExperience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and ExcelPreferred Qualifications3+ years of construction or project management experienceElectrical or mechanical Journeyman LicenseOperating engineering license such as DC $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Amazon is a total
