and we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, thinks and acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes, and controls.As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting LEO's Global Long-Range Planning (LRP) team, you will translate LEO's strategic investment roadmap into financial insights that guide executive decision-making.You will support the development and maintenance of LEO's consolidated 10-year global financial plan—a roadmap consolidating inputs from 150+ country P&Ls to inform capital prioritization, global expansion strategy, and long-term partnership and deal evaluations.You will contribute to initiatives that shape LEO's competitive positioning and investment strategy: building financial models and analyses for long-range visibility and scenario planning; supporting financial analysis behind entry into new businesses and market opportunities; and driving operational efficiency by partnering on the design and deployment of financial systems and controls that enable faster, data-driven decision-making across the organization.Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment.You will collaborate with stakeholders—from VPs and Directors to Program/Project Managers and other Finance Managers—across multiple business units within Amazon.You are comfortable leading analytical projects with high ambiguity, creating robust processes to track and manage complex financial data, presenting findings to business leaders, and prioritizing high-impact work that maximizes results while solving complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.This role demands strong financial modeling capabilities, the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources, comfort with ambiguity, and a relentless commitment to simplifying complexity.You will have the opportunity to work on analyses that inform C-suite decisions and shape LEO's future.Key job responsibilities- Design, develop & maintain long-range financial models to project and evaluate business performance against key goals and metrics- Project manage financial deliverables aligned to business objectives- Create and implement financial and operating performance metrics, identifying key call outs- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders- Analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations- Identify root causes of data discrepancies and deliver a solution- Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs- Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where the data may be scarce or difficult to procure- Participate in finance initiatives, including but not limited to process improvements, ad hoc analyses, and preparation of periodic reporting activities- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or related analytical field experience- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable experience- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experiencePreferred Qualifications- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience- MBA or CPA- Knowledge of SQL/ETL- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of resultsAmazon
