Head of Research & Development – Mobility & Transport PlanningTo strengthen our Research & Development Department, we are seeking a highly motivated and experiencedHead of Research & Developmentto lead and coordinate innovative research activities in the field of mobility and transport planning.The ideal candidate will have a strong academic and professional background in transportation theory and mobility-related topics, covering a wide interdisciplinary spectrum ranging from sociological and behavioral aspects to digital systems, big data analytics, and emerging technologies applied to transport studies.The role focuses on the development of advanced analytical tools to identify mobility trends, understand travel behavior, and assess the complex interactions between people's movements and the built environment.This position requires a solid research-oriented approach combined with strong leadership and project coordination skillsKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Research & Development Department, coordinating multidisciplinary teams of analysts and researchers.Develop innovative methodologies and analytical tools based on big data analytics and machine learning applied to mobility studies.Supervise the execution of complex research projects related to transport systems, travel behavior, and urban mobility dynamics.Promote collaboration with universities, research institutions, and international partners.Support postgraduate research programs, mentoring PhD candidates and supervising academic collaborations.Contribute directly to high-level scientific and technical studies through geo-statistical analysis and GIS-based modeling.Technical Skills and ExpertiseStrong background in transportation research and applied mobility studies.Proven experience ingeo-statistical analysisandGIS-based spatial analysis.Advanced programming skills usingPython and R, with working knowledge ofSQLfor data management.Practical experience withmachine learning techniques, both supervised and unsupervised, applied to big datasets in the mobility domain.Solid understanding of big data analytics and their application to modeling travel behavior and mobility-environment interactions.Soft Skills and Personal AttributesLeadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.Proactive attitude, high level of initiative, and strong problem-solving orientation.Curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for transport and mobility topics.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.Willingness to travel for project development, research activities, and international collaborations.Language RequirementsFluent English and Italian (mandatory).Additional languages will be considered a plus.Working ConditionsFlexible working arrangements, with a hybrid model combining smart working and office-based activities.About us:MIC-HUBis an international team of planners, engineers, designers and consultants, working across every aspect of mobility and transportation.At MIC-HUB you will work intersection of mobility, design and technology, with some of the most passionate and committed architects, engineers and consultants.We are committed to making a positive difference toward a more sustainable and inclusive world: accessing places while regenerating the planet.To apply, please send an email to , including your CV and samples of your work.
