Global Supplier Development Engineer

DescriptionHitachi Energy is looking for aGlobal Supplier Development Engineer.This position can be filled anywhere in Europe where Hitachi Energy has a location.In this role, you will ensure our suppliers deliver high-quality materials while maintaining cost-effectiveness.You will implement proactive quality assurance processes to enhance the quality and delivery performance of our supply base.Aligning with our Category Strategy, you will lead supplier assessments, manage development initiatives, oversee parts approvals, and drive continuous improvement, ultimately elevating our supplier partnerships and contributing to our operational excellence.How you'll make an impactLead the supplier qualification process by conducting SAP Ariba assessments and executing global on-site audits to ensure supplier compliance and capability.Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings and identified process improvements, fostering enhanced collaboration and quality outcomes.Oversee the global parts approval process to ensure supplier materials and components meet technical and operational requirements for various critical to quality materials in Transformers Business unitMonitor supplier performance indicators and drive the annual Supplier Performance Evaluation process to identify and address low-performing suppliers.Develop and implement action plans for supplier performance recovery, working closely with suppliers to ensure the effectiveness of corrective measures.Resolve escalated non-conformities with suppliers by leading root cause analysis and ensuring proper implementation of corrective actions.Drive continuous improvement in supplier management processes at a global level, reflecting lessons learned and promoting best practices across the business unit.Lead key SCM tool/system improvement projects within Supplier Quality and Development domainProject lead for single/sole source elimination in critical global categoriesYour backgroundDegree in Engineering (Materials, Mechanical, Production engineering or similar)Minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier development and supplier quality managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisionsExperience with transformer industry relevant materials and components production (e.g: steel, copper, aluminum, insulation materials, chemicals raw materials, gaskets, transformer components) is a strong advantageYou have solid experience with production process assessmentYou have solid experience with Quality and Continuous Improvement tools and processes (e.g., Kaizen, DMAIC, A3, 8D, 5Why Analysis)You have dept experience with APQP/PPAP, P-FMEA, Process Control Plan, Statistical Process Control, and inspection processAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills with structured, proactive, self-driven, and result-oriented work approachExcellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with suppliers and cross-functional teams effectively in international environmentWillingness to travel internationally to conduct supplier assessments and audits frequentlyQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.You may request reasonable accommodations by completing a general inquiry form on our website.Please include your contact information and specific details about your required accommodation to support you during the job application process.This is solely for job seekers with disabilities requiring accessibility assistance or an accommodation in the job application process.Messages left for other purposes will not receive a response.#J-*****-Ljbffr
