OverviewEngineering Operations Technician, DCC Communities – Job ID: ******* | Amazon Data Services, Inc.Join our dynamic team and become a critical guardian of technological infrastructure.As a Data Center Engineering Technician, you will help maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure to ensure high uptime and reliable operations across AWS data centers.You will work on electrical and mechanical systems, including standby diesel generators, three-phase power, cooling and related equipment, and fire/life safety systems.AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure.We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling that keep our customers connected to cloud services.You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, collaborating to uphold safety, security, and efficiency while delivering value at scale.Note: Amazon does not sponsor immigration for this role (including H-1B, TN, and other non-immigrant visas).Lump-sum relocation stipends are provided to eligible candidates.Key responsibilitiesDaily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLAs.Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.Technical writing to support the change management program.Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring work adheres to established practices, procedures, and local legislation.Adjust work schedules based on site needs; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; role may span multiple locations/sites.Essential requirementsAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until a facility is operational.Travel frequency will vary based on business needs; candidates must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required.Physical ability to perform required duties, including lifting up to 39 pounds and working in environments requiring protective equipment.Ability to work in varying physical conditions and perform tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting, bending, and handling equipment; willingness to travel as needed.What you'll experienceThis role acts as a front-line technician for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment PM and troubleshooting, reporting to a site Facility Manager.You will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including diesel generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, batteries, CRAHU units, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, air handlers, pumps, and motors, along with fire/life safety and building automation systems.About the team and cultureAWS values diverse experiences and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet all listed qualifications.AWS emphasizes inclusion, curiosity, and ongoing mentorship and career growth.We promote work-life balance and provide flexible working arrangements where possible.Compensation and benefitsThe base salary range for this position is listed below and may include sign-on payments and RSUs.Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.Benefits include medical/dental/vision, life insurance, 401(k) with matching, paid time off, parental leave, and other programs.See the benefits page for details.USA locations noted: OH (Columbus area) and Dublin, Ireland; local currency and hourly ranges apply by site.Posted: January 28, **** (updated periodically).This role is listed as Engineering Operations Technician DCC Communities • Rome, Italy.J-*****-Ljbffr#J-*****-Ljbffr
