Job TitleVeritas Backup SME – IT InfrastructureRole SummaryThe Veritas Backup SME is responsible for designing, managing, and supporting enterprise backup and recovery solutions.The role focuses on Veritas Net Backup to ensure reliable data protection, backup performance, and disaster recovery across on-prem, virtual, and cloud environments.Key ResponsibilitiesBackup & Recovery Design, implement, and manage Veritas Net Backup solutions Create backup policies, schedules, and retention plansPerform backup, restore, and disaster recovery testingMonitor backup jobs and ensure successful completion System Design & Implementation Architect scalable backup solutions using Veritas Net Backup / Backup Exec Configure, tune, and optimize backup environmentsSupport data migration, storage optimization, and DR initiativesEnsure backup solutions meet security and infrastructure standards Troubleshooting & PerformanceIdentify and resolve backup failures and performance issuesPerform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidentsOptimize network, storage, and server performance related to backups Automation & MonitoringAutomate backup processes to improve reliability and efficiencyConfigure monitoring and alerts for proactive issue detectionTrack performance metrics and system health Documentation & ReportingMaintain backup policies, procedures, and technical documentationProvide reports on backup status, capacity, recovery performance, and risksSupport audit and compliance requirements Collaboration & Support Work closely with storage, server, and network teams Provide expert support for backup and restore operations SkillsMandatory Veritas Net Backup Veeam Backup & Replication
