Electrical Engineer

The project : Terra Innovatum's mission is to make nuclear power accessible.We deliver simple and safe micro-reactor solutions that are scalable, affordable and deployable anywhere 1 Mwe at a time.You will be joining a fast-growing scaleup developing SOLO – a micro modular reactor – able to provide clean energy and radioisotopes where it is needed.You will be supporting the reactor licensing process in the US at first.You will support the founding team to scaleup to a leading tech company supplying much needed energy solutions globally.This is a unique opportunity to join a high performance team developing a global energy solutions leader.What you will be working onTerra Innovatum Electrical Engineer will be :responsible for designing, maintaining, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems within nuclear power plants, research facilities, and other nuclear installations.working with high-voltage power distribution, emergency backup systems, instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, and regulatory compliance to ensure uninterrupted and safe plant operationscollaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including reactor operators, regulatory agencies, and maintenance personnel, to optimize performance and safetyPotential next stepsAs the company is growing fast and plans international expansion in ****, the right candidate will be considered for regional and / or global responsibility.What you will be in charge of :Designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, switchgear, and emergency backup systems.Ensuring compliance with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), IEEE, ANSI, and other regulatory and safety standards.Maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical systems to prevent failures and minimize downtime.Developing and implementing electrical safety protocols, testing procedures, and maintenance schedules.Working with instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for reactor monitoring, automation, and safety mechanisms.Supporting plant modifications, system upgrades, and retrofits to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance.Conducting fault analysis, power flow studies, and protective relaying coordination for electrical systems.Collaborating with reactor engineers, civil engineers, and safety specialists to integrate electrical components into plant designs.Assisting in regulatory audits, inspections, and documentation related to electrical systems.Providing technical support and training to plant operators and maintenance teams regarding electrical safety and operations.Who we want to work with :Education : Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.Experience : 3-7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in nuclear, power generation, or industrial environments (entry-level positions may require internships or co-op experience).Certifications (Preferred) : PE (Professional Engineer) license, IEEE certifications, or NRC-related qualifications.Strong understanding of power generation, distribution, and electrical system reliability.Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD Electrical).Knowledge of nuclear safety standards, regulatory compliance, and emergency power systems.Familiarity with digital and analog control systems, instrumentation, and automation in nuclear facilities.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with engineers, operators, and regulatory agencies.Attention to detail and a strong commitment to nuclear safety and compliance.Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishPreferred :IPO experienceWritten and oral fluency in ItalianAbility to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization#J-*****-Ljbffr
