Join to apply for the Director of Finance role at Mandarin Oriental.Are you a master of craft?Do you thrive in a team that succeeds together, demonstrating integrity and respect while acting responsibly?Do you embrace a growth mindset?We invite you to become a fan of the exceptional.Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the most luxurious hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world, with a strong development pipeline.Increasingly recognised for creating some of the world's most sought-after properties, the Group provides legendary service inspired by Asian heritage whilst representing the very cutting-edge of luxury experiences.Ideally located on the charming Via Andegari, Mandarin Oriental, Milan is a stylish and intimate hotel, featuring 104 guestrooms, including 36 beautifully appointed suites.Set in the heart of the city, only steps away from the world-renowned La Scala opera house, it inhabits four elegant 18th Century buildings in Milan's most prestigious district.Guests can discover exquisite dining in the beautiful setting of two-Michelin-starred restaurant Seta, run by acclaimed chef Antonio Guida, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Mandarin Garden, where an eclectic choice of contemporary cuisine and cocktails are offered in chic surroundings.The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Milan is the city's most comprehensive, offering a holistic approach to rejuvenation and relaxation in tranquil, meditative surroundings that feature an indoor swimming pool and six private treatment rooms.About the JobBased at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Finance Department, the Director of Finance is responsible for the supervision of all members of the Finance & Purchasing Department, for the determination of optimum control objectives and for the installation and maintenance of appropriate internal control systems over income, expenditure, assets and liabilities within the hotel, budget and forecast process, and finance meetings with Corporate MOHG finance and Owners.The Director of Finance reports to the General Manager.ResponsibilitiesDirect, manage and support the development, implementation, maintenance and administration of all financial controls and accounting procedures based upon maximisation of internal control techniques consistent with Group corporate management established policy and generally accepted accounting principles.Play an active role in the management of the hotel and exercise a responsive attitude to the needs of the General Manager and other members of the hotel management team.Ensure compliance to terms and conditions of the hotel's management contract and bring any discrepancies to the immediate attention of the General Manager and group corporate management.Actively seek opportunities to improve the profitability of the hotel and encourage the preparation of exception reports and analyses to help meet objectives.Manage, supervise and support all subordinate employees, optimising profitability and improving guest experience.Initiate employee development and evaluation programmes for all subordinate staff.Organise an efficient treasury function to manage the hotel's working capital and cash flow in accordance with Group corporate management guidelines.Comply with MOHG Code of Conduct and all legal and regulatory requirements.Cooperate and support the General Manager and Human Resources on strategic matters.Support learning and development activities of the finance and purchasing team.Adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.Carry out any additional duties requested by management related to hotel operational activities.What we expect from youBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.10 years of comparable experience.Proficient in all Windows-based software applications.Strong proficiency in Excel.Prioritisation skills necessary to meet deadlines.Effective management, leadership, organisational and communication skills.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; fluency in Italian and English required.Italian citizenship, structured working experience in Italy, general fiscal principles knowledge.Our commitment to youLearning & Development: unique programmes for various career stages to help you grow continuously.MOstay Programme: complimentary nights and attractive rates for you and loved ones.Members of the Exco team receive benefits and recognition.Meals available at the Employee Restaurant.Privacy Policy for processing personal data:
