Job ID: ******* | Amazon.com Services LLC At Amazon, we prioritize health, safety, and well-being above all else.To support this priority, Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team.In this position, you will partner with the site level operations team for your designated site to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations.Leveraging lean principles and Kaizen events, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in Amazon's processes, thereby ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for our associates.As a Senior Manager, you must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with cross-functional operations teams, and influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.You will be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages verbally and in writing.You will instruct and train operations leadership and site WHS professionals in company EHS policies while assisting regional teams in incorporating our safety standards at their sites.Your experience working in safety programs and your relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge in an operations environment will be crucial.You will develop a team of safety managers and safety professionals at your designated site.Your team's success will depend on your ability to create and execute leadership development plans for your larger team.As a senior leader in the WHS organization, you will also assess safety talent and select appropriate bench strength for current and future business needs.ResponsibilitiesAct as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policyProvide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Safety PoliciesMeasure site performance against published requirements in safety policies; for deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficienciesEnsure safety record keeping and data integrity, providing Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiativesDeliver on-time and quality projects to OperationsDeep-dive safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends and justify allocation of resources to areas where the safety risk is highestDeep-dive trends and propose action plans to Sr.Leadership on siteAudit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database entries to ensure compliance with global safety standards and local regulationsAudit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistentManage and mentor the Safety Managers and Safety Associates at your assigned siteEngage the Injury Prevention Specialists (IPS) and Site Leadership to drive long-term strategic actions to achieve incident reductionPerform targeted Kaizen events in partnership with the Operations teams based on risks identified in each task (force, repetition, and awkward postures)Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policyAudit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required safety trainingReview the effectiveness of deployed safety tools and revise to ensure continual improvementPartner with corporate and other regional field safety personnel to leverage global safety and environmental best practices into NA network standardsJob ElementsLift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reachStand/walk for up to 12 hours during shiftsWork in an environment where the noise level variesWork in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments)Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the siteThose that do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must obtain one within 3 weeks of start date.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance managementCPR/First Aid CertificationExperience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environmentWillingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required to support direct reports and site needsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree preferredCertified Safety Professional preferredExperience in a fast-paced, dynamic organizationInterest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nationPrior experience in a management development training programTrack record of effectively managing a safety operation comprising both salaried and hourly staffDemonstrated experience in developing others into higher levels of responsibility in an organizationStrong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VPsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAmazon is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country/region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets.The base pay for this position ranges from $134,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,700/year in our highest geographic market.Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Amazon is a total compensation company.Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.For more information, please visit .This position will remain posted until filled.Applicants should apply via our internal or external career site.#J-*****-Ljbffr
